I used to love coding
Idk what I am really going to talk about here or how often I will post. But I guess some things have been on my mind and I want to put them out into the ether.
I used to love coding. I love solving problems. It’s why I started my degree in engineering and it’s why I work in IT. Figuring out the best way to process information or how to order a set of instructions so that it is the most efficient way possible. These are things I love. But every time I find myself in an IDE now I just know that it is over. The problem is already solved. Ask an LLM. It is like a drug that I can’t stop taking. But I think now it allows us humans to abstract the problem at a higher level than before. For all of our history in computers we have made tools easier to use and understand. LLMs are this natural conclusion. The problem solving itself has not dissipated but merely manifested itself in a different form. But now I do not need to code. I used to love coding.
